A believer in creating meaningful change, Chandler first set her entrepreneurial roots when she joined the LA Phil’s first hackathon, working with engineers to devise proposals that bring classical music outside concert halls. Drawing inspiration from this experience, she and her quartet colleagues brought a musical program of Mozart and jazz into the greater Houston area, reaching a kaleidoscope of communities. Through this, they were awarded Rice University’s Richter Grant. Her desire to know diverse groups and build cross-cultural bridges brought her to work with the non-profit organizations Street Symphony and UN Women LA. She curated a series of grassroots chamber concerts in Skid Row and Chino Hills, showcasing female empowerment to promote gender equity awareness. Chandler went on to co-produce and premiere an experimental chamber opera based on Sylvia Townsend Warner’s feminist classic, Lolly Willowes. With her interest in music education and background in project management, she recently joined the Vilacello String and Piano Festival to help secure funding, develop the summer program, and plan its expansion to Italy.
Chandler is a graduate of the Colburn School and Rice University, studying under pedagogues Robert Lipsett and Paul Kantor. In addition to music, she enjoys running in the city, capturing photos, scribbling in her journal, or cozying up to a good book.
